About Elissa Kozlov, PhD

Dr. Kozlov received her PhD at Washington University in St. Louis and completed her clinical training at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She has worked in nursing homes, cancer centers, sleep clinics, outpatient community clinics and palliative care teams. 

Dr. Kozlov's utilizes evidence-based therapies (primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and tailors the treatment to meet each client's unique needs and life experiences. She works  to build a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic alliance. 

Dr. Kozlov is also an accomplished researcher and presenter. She has authored 12+ peer-reviewed articles and given dozens of talks at national conferences on topics related to aging and coping with advanced illness. In addition to seeing clients in her private practice, Dr. Kozlov conducts research at Weill Cornell Medicine in their Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. She is an Instructor of Psychology in Medicine and an active member of the Center for Research on End-of-Life Care.
